GridBank license explained: paid social rights vs perpetual usage

By Bejana·· 8 min read

Two plans can look identical on a pricing page and behave completely differently in month seven, when the campaign is still running and the subscription is not. The licence term matters more than the price per clip, every time.

Why the licence term matters more than price

A downloaded clip is not an asset you own; it is a permission with conditions attached. The conditions that cost money later are: does the permission survive cancellation, which channels does it cover, and can you hand it to a client.

Get those wrong and the cheapest plan becomes the most expensive campaign you ever ran, because you are either re-licensing mid-flight or pulling ads that were working.

What GridBank's pricing page lists, quoted

From gridbank.io/pricing, checked October 2026:

“Paid Social Rights”

— listed with the Full Library plan, $990 per quarter for 120 downloads (promo code GB100 brings it to $890)

“Perpetual Usage Rights”

— listed on the Agency plan — not on the Full Library plan

Read those two lines together and the structure is clear: paid social usage is one thing, and rights that outlive the subscription are another, attached to a different (higher) plan. GridBank may change this — check the live page before you plan a campaign around it.

Four questions to ask any footage library

  1. 01Do my ads keep running after I cancel? If the licence ends when the subscription ends, every always-on campaign is a renewal commitment.
  2. 02Can I reuse a clip in new campaigns? Some licences cover one project, campaign or brand. Ask before you build a template around a clip.
  3. 03Can I transfer it to a client? Agencies need this in writing, usually with the client named as an authorised user.
  4. 04What happens if I need a refund or the clip is withdrawn? Rights complaints do happen. Ask whether existing published uses stay licensed if a clip is pulled.

If the answer is “it depends on your plan”, that is a fine answer — as long as you get the plan-specific version in writing.

How Bejana's license works

Bejana keeps this deliberately simple:

  • The creator keeps copyright. You get a non-exclusive licence to use downloaded clips in content you publish.
  • Every plan includes organic and paid use, and client work — there are no usage-type restrictions by tier.
  • The licence on a clip you downloaded lasts a lifetime. Canceling only blocks new downloads.
  • Unused downloads roll over while your plan is active, and re-downloading a clip you already own is free.
  • You cannot resell or sublicense the raw file as stock footage.
  • If a clip is withdrawn for a rights issue, you must stop new uses, but existing published uses stay licensed.

Every Bejana plan includes organic and paid usage plus client work. Downloaded clips stay licensed for life, unused downloads roll over while your plan is active, and canceling only stops new downloads. Full wording: the Bejana license.

A licence tracking template

Keep this next to your creative folder. One row per clip, updated when you download — not when the audit arrives.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between paid social rights and perpetual usage rights?+

Paid social rights let you run the clip in paid social campaigns. Perpetual usage rights mean the licence does not expire with your subscription. GridBank's pricing page lists paid social rights on the Full Library plan and perpetual usage rights on the Agency plan, as of October 2026.

Do Bejana clips stay licensed after I cancel?+

Yes. Every downloaded Bejana clip carries a lifetime licence. Canceling only blocks new downloads — clips you already downloaded stay licensed for the projects you publish them in.

Can I use Bejana clips for client work?+

Yes. Client work is included on every plan, including Creator. The licence covers content you publish on a client's behalf, and the creator keeps copyright in the footage.

Should I keep a licence log?+

Yes, especially for paid media. Record the clip ID, source, licensee name, rights type and expiry. It is the first thing brands and platforms ask for when creative rights are questioned.
